Nutritional Facts

Glucose is a simple sugar (carbohydrate) found in the blood. Glucose is what gives all animals and plants their energy. An amount of glucose sugar, too large for your body to handle, will cause your insulin levels to rise and your blood sugar level to increase, quickly returning to normal after the sugar is broken down. Furthermore, when your body consumes too much sugar over time, it can become resistant towards insulin causing sugar to accumulate in your blood, also known as type 2 diabetes. When your body does not consume enough glucose, you can become hypoglycemic, which will result in convulsions or even fainting.

Foods containing glucose:

• Candy
• Most vegetables and fruits
• Rice
